Champion for Children Award

Every year in Cumberland County, we come together to recognize individuals, agencies, or groups that have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the prevention of child abuse and neglect or the promotion of the protection of children. The "Champion for Children" Awards have become a tradition in our community, and we invite you to help us acknowledge your colleagues that make a difference every day in the effort to protect children and stop abuse.

We are now accepting nominations for the following categories:

  • Agency or Group Nominee
  • Professional Nominee
  • Volunteer Nominee

The "Champion for Children" Awards will be presented to nominees that best meet the following criteria:

  • Significantly helps to improve the safety and wellbeing of children in Cumberland County or Fort Liberty.
  • Demonstrates exceptional commitment to the prevention of child abuse and neglect or the promotion of the protection of children.
  • Sets an example and serves as a role model who inspires others to go above and beyond the call of duty to protect children from child abuse and neglect.
  • Displays characteristics of leadership, caring, persistence, and commitment.
  • Displays positive communication and collaboration with other agencies and professionals.
  • Services (agency/group, professional, and/or volunteer) were rendered during the 2023 calendar year.

If you know a "Champion for Children," please submit a nomination by clicking the button below or printing the Google form and mailing it to the Child Advocacy Center at the address below. The deadline for submission is April 5, 2024.

The "Champion for Children" Awards will be presented to Agency or Group, Professional, and Volunteer at our 2024 Child Abuse Summit on April 16, 2024, which will be held at LaFayette Baptist Church.

When completing your nomination, note that the judges will be making their decision based solely on your narrative. Be as specific as possible.
