
Every year in Cumberland County, we come together to recognize individuals, agencies, or groups that have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the prevention of child abuse and neglect or the promotion of the protection of children. The "Champion for Children" Awards have become a tradition in our community, and we invite you to help us acknowledge your colleagues that make a difference every day in the effort to protect children and stop abuse.
We are now accepting nominations for the following categories:
- Agency or Group Nominee
- Professional Nominee
- Volunteer Nominee
The "Champion for Children" Awards will be presented to nominees that best meet the following criteria:
- Significantly helps to improve the safety and well-being of children in Cumberland County or Fort Bragg.
- Demonstrates exceptional commitment to the prevention of child abuse and neglect or the promotion of the protection of children.
- Sets an example and serves as a role model that inspires others to go above and beyond the call of duty to protect children from child abuse and neglect.
- Displays characteristics of leadership, caring, persistence, and commitment.
- Displays positive communication and collaboration with other agencies and professionals.
- Services (agency/group, professional, and/or volunteer) were rendered during the 2022 calendar year.
- If you know a "Champion for Children," please submit a nomination by completing the Google document or print document and mailing it to the Child Advocacy Center at the address below. The deadline for submission is March 31, 2023.

The "Champion for Children" Awards will be presented to Agency or Group, Professional, and Volunteer at our 2023 April Child Abuse Summit on April 20, 2023, which will be held at Fuller Recreation Center.
